Oswego police made a sad disclosure into the case of a missing person on May 7th, 2024. The dead body of Edward Gardner, a resident of Bolingbrook, was found in Chicago. This is after a very long and disturbing moment for the family and the community at large, since Edward was declared missing since March 14, 2022. He was last seen by his family before he disappeared, when he was spotted in Chicago on March 13, 2022. In the long period that followed his disappearance, there were scanty leads on his whereabouts until this major occurrence happened. On March 29, 2022, precisely two weeks after Edward was reported missing, there was an car accident in Hammond, Indiana. It involved a white Dodge Charger that Edward had rented. With the involvement of the car accident and his disappearance, there were many questions. His family and friends had to live in a period of questioning during this sad time. This painful situation has just been further exacerbated by the recent discovery of his body as they try to piece together what happened during the time he was missing. The passengers of the Charger, visibly shaken after the incident, fled the scene almost immediately-a notion that showed urgency to be very far from the area where the accident occurred. On the other hand, police officials have clarified that there is no proof or sufficient grounds to ascertain that Gardner was in the area during the incident. On March 20, Oswego police found Gardner's body in the 6000-block of South Sangamon Street in the Englewood neighborhood. Police found the body rather early, but it wasn't until recently this past Tuesday that officials were able to identify Gardner. This delay in the identification of the body itself raises more questions of what happened before the accident and under what circumstances Gardner died.
